# Connect to Perplexity

Use the Ascend Gateway V5 as an MCP server in Perplexity for AI-powered research with real GTM data.

  * Perplexity **Mac app** (MCP is not yet available on iOS or web)
  * An Ascend Gateway bearer token

## Setup

1. Open **Perplexity** Mac app → **Settings** → **MCP**
2. Click **Add Remote Connector**
3. Enter the gateway URL:
   ```
   https://ascend-gateway-v5.ascendgtm.workers.dev/mcp
   ```
4. Complete the OAuth authorization (paste your bearer token on the consent page)
5. Tools become available in your Perplexity sessions

## Test It

Ask Perplexity:

```
Use the ga4_report tool to show me sessions for the last 7 days
```

Perplexity can combine its web search capabilities with your real GTM data from the gateway.

## Use Cases

* **Research + CRM:** "Find information about this company and check if they're in our HubSpot"
* **SEO + GSC:** "What are our top search queries and how do they compare to industry benchmarks?"
* **Competitive + SEMrush:** "Research our top competitor and compare with our SEMrush data"

## Troubleshooting

| Issue                 | Fix                                              |

| "MCP" not in settings | Update Perplexity Mac app to latest version      |
| OAuth fails           | Verify bearer token with health check endpoint   |
| Limited tool access   | Use `discover_apis` to check connected providers |
